  • Miscellaneous Payments (If Your Payment Reference begins with “X”)

Checklist for Individuals

As part of the HMRC regulations we need two forms of identification for both name and address, please see below.

For example, if you provide your passport as of your name you must provide another form of identification for your address, such as your driving license. If these cannot be seen in person by ourselves, you can send us Original Documents (at your own risk, we advise to send these recorded delivery, please note that you can certify documents at the post office) or you have to get the documents signed by a certified person who is not a friend or relative, this can be an independent professional person, for example –

  • Family Doctor

  • Civil Servant

  • Employer

  • Teacher

  • Solicitor

  • Notary

  • Post Office Employee or Employer

  • Current Signed Passport

  • Current UK or EEA Photo Card Driving Licence

  • Original Birth Certificate (Issued with 12 Months of Birth Date)

  • EAA Member State Identity Card

  • Full Old-Style Driving Licence

  • Photographic Registration Cards for Self-Employed Individuals in Construction Industry – CIS4 Benefit Book or Original Notification Letter from Benefits Agency

  • Firearms or Shotgun Certificate

  • Residence Permit Issued by the Home Office to EEA Nationals on Sight of Own Country Passport

  • Identity Card Bearing a Photograph of Client.

  • Documents Issued by HMRC such as PAYE Coding Notices and Statements of Account (NB: Employer Issued Documents, including P60s, Are Not Acceptable)

  • End-of-Year Tax Deduction Certificates

  • Current UK Driving Licence (but Only If Not Used for the Name Evidence)

  • Gas Bill Issued within the Last Three Months

  • Electric Bill Issued within the Last Three Months

  • Satellite Bill Issued within the Last Three Months

  • Television Bill Issued within the Last Three Months

  • Landline Bill Issued within the Last Three Months

  • Local Authority Council Tax Bill for the Current Council Tax Year

  • Bank, Building Society, or Credit Union Statement or Passbook Dated within the Last Three Months

  • Original Mortgage Statement from a Recognised Lender, Issued for the Last Full Year

  • Solicitor’s Letter Dated within the Last Three Months, Confirming Recent House Purchase or Land Registry Confirmation of Address

  • Council or Housing Association Rent Card or Tenancy Agreement for the Current Year

  • Benefit Book or Original Notification from Form Benefits Agency (but Only If Not Used for the Name Evidence)

  • HMRC Self-Assessment Letters or Tax Demand, Dated within the Current Financial Year

  • Electoral Register Entry or Search Confirmation

  • NHS Medical Card or Letter of Confirmation from GP’s Practice of Registration with the Surgery

  • Home Visit (Noted by the Member of Staff)
