Robert Fox B.A. (Hons) – Director

Rob started with Argent 2010 and is one of the senior managers in the company. He has a vast knowledge of the business sector. Having run large businesses and has an expert knowledge of how a business runs. He uses this knowledge to help and assist with not just the accountancy part of the business but helping run the company smoothly. He has a degree and is a former IFA. He has built up a reputation for dealing with HMRC investigations and is known for being successful in appealing fines and sorting out complicated tax affairs.

In his spare time, he enjoys playing squash and spending time with his family.

Gareth Thomas B.A. (Hons) – MAAT

Gareth started with Argent in 2012 and believes strongly that service is key to a successful accountancy firm. He goes above and beyond for his clients and is proficient in Limited Company Accounts, VAT, PAYE, Self-Assessment tax returns and dealing with HMRC. He has built up an excellent reputation with clients and has built up a portfolio through word of mouth. He has a degree in Business and Finance from the University of Chester, where he was awarded with the prestigious Valedictorian award. He is a qualified accountant and is always looking for ways to grow and improve by continuing to do courses and training.

In his spare time, he enjoys playing hockey where he has been lucky enough to represent Wales internationally. He considers this an important part of his character working well as part of a team and working hard to achieve success. He loves spending time with his young family.

Michael Fox M.Eng – Client and Payroll Manager

Michael started with Argent in 2012 and is in charge of ensuring argents accounts and systems are running to their full potential. Not only does he deal with accounts and self-assessments he is an adept in Payroll and CIS. Having worked for various large companies running their accounts he has a large amount of knowledge at his disposal. He has a master’s in computer science and uses this to help clients.

In his spare time, he is keen railway enthusiast and enjoys his real ales.

Samuel Rawlings-Brown MAAT – VAT and Tax Specialist

Samuel joined the firm in 2016 after working with a mid-tier firm in Newport for two years. Samuel is a qualified accountant whose roles within Argent covers all aspects of the accountancy profession predominantly VAT, personal tax and limited companies.

Samuel has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience from working with a broad spectrum of private and corporate clients from varying sectors and industries however, specialises within the construction industry.

Outside of the office, Samuel enjoys travelling and sports.

James Taube B.Sc. (Hons.) – Tax and Self-Assessment Specialist

James started with Argent in March 2017 after returning from a four-year football scholarship in Georgia, USA. James achieved a first-class degree in Business & Financial Management whilst also being honoured with the prestigious Sigma Beta Delta award. James is continuing his education in accountancy and is sitting exams regularly throughout the year. James is proficient in self-assessment tax returns, Limited company set ups, company analysis, and VAT. He is always looking to improve his knowledge and enjoys all aspects of accounting.

James is a very sociable individual who brings a lot of life to the office. In his spare time James enjoys anything sport related particularly football and cricket in which he has played at a high level in both.

Carys Bowen B.Sc. (Hons.) – VAT and Tax Specialist

Carys joined the firm in 2016 during her studies at Cardiff University. She graduated with a BSc in Accountancy and Finance in 2018 and joined permanently where she continues to develop and widen her accountancy knowledge and expertise. Carys is adept in VAT, limited companies, personal tax, dealing with HMRC and PAYE. 

She has effective communication skills and believes strongly in providing wonderful customer service. Carys is continually looking for ways to develop and grow the company and as an individual.
In her spare time Carys loves fashion, socialising, travelling and spending time with her family.

Peter Franklin – VAT & Accounts Manager

Peter started with the company in 2011 and is working hard towards his AAT finals. He has extensive knowledge with IRIS and deals with company accounts, VAT and any HMRC queries. He enjoys the analysis part of limited companies and has good communication skills with clients.

In his spare time, Pete enjoys gaming and a variety of films.
